Apple: Cultural Behavior and Communication Style Over the past 35 years, Apple inc. has developed and refine its culture within its organization. Since, becoming CEO on July 9, 1997, Steve Job began reshaping that culture to mirror his vision on what his company should be. This paper will exam how Steve Jobs reshaped Apples culture, shaped how they communicate internally and externally, and if Apples actions align with its values. Apples Culture To Apples legion of admirers, the company is like a tech version of Wonkas factory, an enigmatic but enchanted place that produces wonderful items they cant get enough of. That characterization is true, but Apple also is a brutal and unforgiving place, where†¦show more content†¦As for external communication they are very secretive. They will only speak about items they are ready to talk about and nothing more, for instance: A Wall Street analyst asked Time Cook, how far out does the company conducts long-term planning, Cook replied. Well, that is a part of the magic of Apple, he said. And I dont want to let anybody know our magic because I dont want anybody copying it (LASHINSKY, A, 2011). I believe that both of these different ways of communicating has help the company succeed. The openness of the communication within the company has allowed the company change direction when needed and the secretiveness of their message outside the company has allowed the company to build a little mystery on new product and services. This has helped build demand for those products.
